Summary of Scene I

King Creon is stating his principles regarding what is he going to do to the suns of Oedipus. "Eteocle who dies as a man should die" "Polyneices I say is to have no burial." pg. 675. King Creon is a crule man because he says "I am king, no traitor is going to be honored with a loyal man," even thought they are brothers. pg. 675 The Sentry who told Creon who did it was a rat because he was only intersted in saving himself. He tells Creon "I've done nothing I've done nothing" pg. 677

Significant Moment

Antigone is trying to bury her brother without a care of Creon's laws. She is not going to be stopped by creons laws. She tells Ismene that "Creon is not strong enough to stand in my way."(Pg. 672) She also says to ismene "I am not afraid of the danger; if it means death, It will not be the will not be the worst of deaths."(Pg. 673) This shows that Antigone will stop at nothing, even if it means risking her life.
