Model / Demonstrate · Teacher will provide an example of text that contains vivid, precise adjectives such as one from your primary resource. · The teacher may ask the following questions: How did this piece of text make you feel? Were you able to visualize what the author was trying to reveal? · The teacher provides another example of text with vivid , precise adjectives and the same piece of text where the adjectives are removed. · Teacher and students will compare and contrast the two pieces. · Teacher and students will revise the non example with other vivid adjectives. Teacher and student will create a criteria chart for writing a quality piece of text using vivid adjectives. Tier I : Intervention : Artistic Adjectives: Students are given a sentence strip, on which she/he will write a descriptive adjective in large cursive or manuscript letters. Students will Turn and Talk with a partner about adjectives_____________ Have student illustrate their adjective to make it look like what it describes. They may illustrate words such as: fierce, frigid, stupendous, sweltering, gorgeous, disgusting, striped, and many more. Tier II:Intervention Students will write adjectives to describe the people in their group. It will be a ferris wheel activity where students write their names on a piece of paper and leave it on their desks. On a signal from the teacher,
